Hippest Hippos

It is Sale-A-Bration time for Stampin’ Up! From July 1 to August 31 you can earn FREE items from the Sale-A-Bration catalog when you spend $50.00 or $100.00. Card Recipe:

Cardbase Basic Black – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

Bermuda Bay Layer 1- 4″ x 5 1/4″

Basic Black Layer 2- 3 3/4″ x 5″

Adhere Layer 1 to the card front with multipurpose liquid glue. layer 2, take an embellishment container and place it in the center of the basic black piece. Trace around it to create a large bubble with a silver gel pen or white gel pen/chalk pen or whatever you have to work on black cardstock, then take a re-inker bottle to create your small bubbles. Draw some curves here and there on each of the bubbles to give it some dimension. Now adhere to layer 1.

Next stamp the ballet hippo on basic white cardstock in the memento tuxedo black ink. Using the smokey slate blends, starting with the dark first, outline the inside lines. Now color in the rest with the light smokey slate. Color the hippo’s eyes and ballet slipper in the light bermuda bay and the tutu in the dark bermuda bay and then add a wink of stella to the tutu to give it some shimmer. Die-cut the hippo out, add a couple of dimensionals to the back and adhere to the center of the large bubble.

Inside of card:

Basic White Layer 2- 3 3/4″ x 5″

Adhere layer 1 to the inside. On layer 2 stamp the sentiment “You’re on point” and then send someone some happy mail.
