Stamping with Friends Blog Hop-Saying goodbye to the retiring Jan-June Mini Catalog

Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators who love sharing our love of paper crafting with you. The theme of this blog is to say farewell to the retiring products from the mini Jan-June catalog.

I am showcasing this beautiful Flowering Cactus Suite.

Stampin’ Up! has a specialty paper that looks like an evening sunset called Rainbow Glimmer paper and the Flowering Cactus Suite goes well with it. I made a sampler to hang on my wall. My home is decorated in southwest/native american indian decor so I knew this would go perfectly with my decor.

Here are closeups of each piece of the sampler. For the first one, I used the negative material I had left over from the felt flowers and used it as a background with the rainbow paper and a few die cut images from the dsp. For the second one, I seen another demo create these flowers from copy paper (you can see her tutorial here) and added a few felt flowers. The third one showcases the rainbow paper, it is gorgoues. I die cut some cacti from cardstock and stamped a cactus in two colors of green and then added a quote with a double bow. Next I added a faux steer head I had in my stash with a felt flower and some twine around the horns. For my last piece I used the retired gold hoop and created a dream catcher with twine, I added the word dream and feathers from the retired Follow your Dreams stamp set using the new in-color shimmer vellum paper. For the back of the dream catcher I used a retired corner punch to create a southwest type background and added some sequins.

I hope I and our team is able to inspire you to create beautiful cards and more. Leave us a comment, we would love to hear from you!

Day 4 Taco Fiesta!

Yesterday I shared the gift bag I made, and today I am showing the birthday card that will go with it. Went with a simple card scheme. Since this is for a guy, I felt it did not need any bling. On the inside I stamped the “holy guacamole it’s your birthday.” I then stamped…

Day 3 of Taco Fiesta!

Hello again everyone! Today is day three of Taco Fiesta! Our favorite restaurant to dine at is the Crazy Burrito. Their food is impressive! I always get the shrimp fajitas, and my husband usually gets the crazy burrito. What is your favorite Mexican dish? I never eat all of it, so a doggy bag is…
