Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends blog hop! This month our team created birthday projects to inspire you to create one for all of your family and friends. Do not forget to leave comments because we all love hearing from you! At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along.
Today the sketch that inspired me to create a card using the new stamp set from the annual catalog on page 34 is called “What’s Cookin'” My brother in laws birthday is May 27th and he is the cook in his family. He can cook like a pro chef, his meals are fabulous!
Here is the sketch I used to create my card but with an added twist. I wanted to create a book bind card so I scored it on the side of the long strip. I have been seeing the book bind card on the internet and decided to give it a try.

I started with Balmy Blue cardstock as my base. I used Basic White, Pale Papya and Evening Evergreen as my layers. I stamped the sentiment and spoon in Early Espresso ink. I stamped other images from the set in Pale Papya on the strip of Basic White. After all were adhered I then scored next to the strip to create my binding. I added Evening Evergreen Ribbon to the bind part and then glued it down (this makes the bind.) This will leave a 4 inch opening, I added a few of the In-Color jewels to the card aslo. I then stamped Happy Birthday from the Pansy Patch stamp set on the inside (sorry I forget to take a picture of the inside.)
I hope you enjoyed this card and that you’ll give it a try. This was so easy to make and I will be whipping up a bunch of these to have on hand for birthdays.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow stamping friends are excited to show you what they have created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop July 3rd, and our theme will be “Slim Line Card” where the design team will be sharing projects that will inspire you. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.
